I don't know whether I will find the readers for this post. But it is always good to pour in your experiences such that they help the internet community members. To bring it to light of every one reading this piece of article, I am a unsuccessful MBA chaser till now.In that, I have appeared thrice in the exam called CAT-Common Admission Test, Indian equivalent of GMAT and have appeared once in GMAT.
Though I am not an avid blogger, at times I feel real sense of blogging out on the internet.I have 4 years of work experience and recently been promoted in my organisation; however, I don't feel being here since I don't see the management of my domain is in good hands.
My MBA journey started right from my final year of engineering after I was placed in a reputed IT firm.I prepared for just 2 months and luckily I managed to get a score of 95 percentile in CAT-2008. Thereafter, my scores started to debacle.
In my school days when I was preparing another toughest entrance exam of my country, India, I always dreamed to become an IIT'ian. And it is not that I felt that right from my school days, the feeling aroused when I saw people preparing for the entrance exam and then I decided that I want to become an IIT'ian. So, when I was unable to crack the entrance exam called IIT-JEE and was admitted to a lower rank college, though not a sub standard one, I decided to pass out from the college as an IIT'ian would be.Although I was placed in an IT firm, my dream was to be a part of a public sector as an Instrumentation Engineer since there were very few private companies offering roles to Instrumentation Engineers.Unable to crack 3 interviews by GAIL-Gas Authority of India limited,SAIL-Steel Authority of India Limited, and BARC- bhaba Automic research center and peer pressure wherein most of my batch mates were cracking CAT, I decided to do an MBA to enhance my knowledge in the business side.
Being rejected by three PSU's and IAF-Indian Air Force, I joined the IT firm in which I got placed in the campus.Meanwhile, I prepared for CAT and the scores decreased year by year. Then I got an onsite assignment and have been working here since Jul-2012.This was the time when I saw inflow of money and decided to give GMAT in Aug-2012. Since then I prepared and gave exam in Mar-2013.And to add to my agonies I scored abysmal 630(Q47,V29).After appearing for my first attempt I knew what mistakes I committed in the exam.
Then year -2013 was a very busy year for me. First I got engaged in July-2013 and then got married in Nov-2013.Now, honeymooning since Dec-2013.I know time has come when I should gear up for second attempt since I want to target Ex-MBA's offered by Indian Institutes.
Hope I will shine too !!
